The Story So Far
Steph & Darren: An Elegant Delamere Manor Wedding
Steph & Darren's beautiful Delamere Manor wedding was the perfect example of an English garden party wedding, set on the rolling green hills of the STUNNING Delamere Manor estate (fun fact: it's also Gary Barlow's former home!). There were lawn games and tree swings and a stretch of incredibly moving (and hilarious) speeches in the glassed-in courtyard reception space under a jaw-dropping greenery-dripped floral chandelier by the geniuses at Hayley's Flower Studio.
Chantelle & Simon: A DIY Leigh Town Hall Wedding
The WONDERFUL Chantelle and Simon were the first of my 2017 couples to take me up on this crazy add-on service. Chantelle is herself a keen photographer and lover of all vintage and they were so excited for the possibility of film and showing off another perspective of the big day. After an absolute nightmare just five days before their wedding that neccessitated a last minute venue change - yes really! - my second shooter Jenn and I arrived at the beautifully classic Leigh Town Hall for a (very warm!) early summer family-filled ceremony.
Kate McCarthy Photography Weddings 2017 Year in Review
WHAT A YEAR. Honestly, what an unbelievable way to spend 12 months: hanging out with wonderfully warm and fun couples in beautiful environments and capturing some of their most precious memories. I always knew that when I began this journey into wedding photography, I was heading towards something special but 2017 and the huge outpouring of support I've received from so many amazing former strangers has been completely overwhelming.
Sarah & Nick: A Destination DIY Vermont Wedding in my Mama's Garden (with so so much love)
I've had some AMAZING couples and have fallen in love with this incredible job all over again but this particular wedding is so dear to me because it is the wedding of my extraordinary big sister Sarah to the love of her life Nick, and took place in the back garden of my family home in Vermont.
Jenna & Kristian: A Love Letter to Manchester & a Victoria Warehouse Industrial Chic Wedding
Sometimes a wedding venue comes along and it takes your freaking breath away with the scope and the potential to be extraordinary. Victoria Warehouse, just over the bridge in Salford, first hooked me when I was lucky enough to use the space for a styled shoot in collaboration with One Stylish Day (you can check that out here). I was so so eager to have the chance to shoot a real wedding there so imagine how thrilled I was when the WONDERFUL Jenna & Kris got in touch with me about their upcoming wedding. Their plan was to have the whole day there, to really show off and celebrate this industrial Manchester gem of a venue and to throw a big silly party with all of their friends and family.
Claire & Michael: An Intimate Family-Filled Buxton Pavilion Wedding
The WONDERFULLY sweet Claire & Michael got in touch with me just 7 WEEKS before their wedding day after booking (then cancelling) the big wedding next spring. Instead these two lovebirds opted for a VERY intimate (we're talking 20 people!) family-focused ceremony on the bandstand of the beautifully vintage Buxton Pavilion Gardens, just on the edge of the Peak District. With a simple hearfelt civil ceremony and just those closest to them present, there wasn't a dry eye in sight (including my own!).
Naomi & Jonathan: An Alderley Edge Engagement Shoot
Naomi & her fiance Jonathan met me on a sunny Sunday morning in August ahead of their upcoming (this Friday in fact!) Owen House Wedding Barn wedding. We had met briefly last year at the lovely Ellie & Rick's Parsonage Gardens wedding party and I was so so excited when they got in touch to book me for their own wedding! Both Naomi & Jonathan work in the beauty industry (they own a GORGEOUS salon in Holmes Chapel that you can check out HERE ) and I knew that with their creative background we'd get on so so well.
Philippa & Kallum: A Saddleworth Hotel Wedding
With a cake cutting to start off the hilarious and very moving speeches (including a full set of props by Pippa's dad!) the guests were then entertained by the awesome Magic Kay's sleight of hand and tunes by the soulful Johnny Walker, setting up an evening full of so much laughter and dancing and silliness - Pippa and Kallum and I even managed to escape to the games room for a quick game of billiards (turns out our bride was a bit of a Shark!)
