2025 — A Year of Stories Worth Staying Still For

Manchester & Cheshire Wedding Photography Year in Review

Sitting down to reflect on 2025, I keep marvelling at how big and unpredictable this year felt. Not just in the usual confetti-filled, dance-floor chaos kind of way, but in the real world that still often feels chaotic and uncertain. And yet, amidst it all, I was so very lucky: day after day, I got to step into rooms filled with people choosing love. That’s something I’ll never take for granted. When I look back at the weddings I photographed this year, what stands out most isn’t just the gorgeous light or the laughter; it’s the way each couple chose each other — in a world that feels full of uncertainty. That matters. It really does.

Being a Manchester wedding photographer in 2025 meant witnessing laughter, tears, and quiet moments of connection across so many wonderful venues — from city-centre halls to leafy Cheshire estates, and even a zoo or two! Each wedding had its own personality, its own story, and its own magic.

A Season Full of Joy: Manchester & Cheshire Weddings

The summer started with Flo & Rosy’s playful wedding at Manchester Museum. Shooting beneath the T-Rex, surrounded by friends and family, I couldn’t help but smile at how much fun love can be. Not long after, Ella & Ciaran’s black-tie celebration at Gorton Monastery reminded me how dramatic, elegant, and beautiful Manchester weddings can be.

Katie & Jon’s Chester Zoo wedding was full of joy and laughter, while Emma & Robin’s Shire-inspired wedding at Hilltop Country House felt straight out of a storybook. Shannon & Michael’s Merrydale Manor wedding offered all the charm of a countryside celebration with a relaxed, happy vibe.

City-centre celebrations brought their own magic too. Alex & Stewart’s Deaf Institute wedding was full of confetti cannons, ice luges, and a dance floor that never calmed down, while Shania & Dan’s intimate Manchester Art Gallery wedding proved how meaningful a city wedding can be. And of course, Steph & Gaz’s Salford pub wedding reminded me that sometimes, the simplest celebrations hold the most joy.

I was honoured to witness Shanna & Darren’s intimate, DIY family wedding at Altrincham Town Hall, where every corner felt like a hug from someone you love. I got to celebrate with Claire & Ian at Liverpool Town Hall — a joyous, raucous day full of laughter that reminded everyone how good it feels to be wrapped up in community. In Manchester Hall, Samantha & Nicholas shared their autumnal vows with a sense of calm joy that was almost palpable, and Emily & Tom chose a wonderfully heartfelt half-day wedding that proved you don’t need all day to make something unforgettable.

One wedding that will stay with me is that bittersweet, beautiful day with Keira & Tom at The Holford Estate — the last wedding ever held at a venue that’s been part of so many of my own early career memories. Knowing how much this place meant to couples and vendors alike made every moment feel both celebratory and deeply poignant.

Spring Highlights & Smaller Celebrations

Spring brought more intimate, heartfelt moments. Erin & Fawn’s Liverpool Art School wedding felt like coming home, while Jackie & David’s Manchester Art Gallery wedding was filled with elegance and warmth. Imogen & Paul’s Manchester Hall wedding and Hannah & James’s Sale Town Hall day showed how smaller weddings can hold huge emotions.

Sammy & Jon’s Cheshire elopement and Tessa & Dawn’s Holford Estate wedding proved that personal touches and intimacy make a wedding unforgettable. Olivia & Alex’s Manchester Art Gallery celebration reminded me again why natural, documentary-led wedding photography is my favourite way to capture love.

Why I Love What I Do

What keeps me coming back, year after year, is the real, unguarded moments: the quiet glances, the belly laughs, the hands finding each other when no one is watching. Especially in times that can feel unpredictable, it’s a privilege to witness people choosing each other and trusting me to capture it. I tell you all this because, no matter how many weddings I shoot, I still get that little flutter of awe when a couple lets me into their day — especially now, in times that can feel unpredictable and overwhelming. The truth is, I don’t take it for granted. I know how lucky I am to have this job amidst everything else that’s happening in the world — to walk into a room full of people because they chose to celebrate love, and to be trusted to document it. That’s not small. That’s profound.

I feel deeply grateful to every couple who welcomed me into their day. You remind me why I pick up my camera, over and over.

Looking Ahead to 2026 & 2027

And looking ahead? I’m so, so thrilled that bookings for 2026 & 2027 are open with many peak dates still up for grabs— whether you’re planning a grand celebration, a cosy family-only day, or the wonderfully unconventional. If you’ve got a love story in the works, I’d be delighted to hear all about it and see how we might capture it together..

From quiet looks that take your breath away, to confetti tunnels and sweeping dance floors, you’ve all reminded me why I pick up this camera again and again. Thank you for letting me be part of your story — and here’s to all the love stories still waiting to unfold.

With all my gratitude in my big fat, theatre-kid heart,
Kate xx
