Sarah & Nick - A Jewel-toned, City Centre Winter Wedding - King Street Townhouse Weddings

I’ve been in the incredibly special position this year in that I’ve captured weddings where the couples feel like friends - nothing is forced, we have a laugh but, more than anything, it’s COMFORTABLE. I’m fiercely loyal to and protective of my couples, we spend so much time communicating in the lead-up to the big day and then every more so on the day. All I want is to capture THEM, their day and to tell a love story featuring all of the carefully curated details and happy tears and dance moves and big fat emotional joy that goes into it.

Sarah & Nick (despite being INSANELY photogenic) aren’t massive fans of posed photos so when it came to shooting their beautiful King Street Townhouse wedding, I knew that my priority was to captured the story as it happened and not take them away from the party rocking the 6th floor of this iconic Manchester wedding venue. And WHAT. A. PARTY. Honestly, I don’t know that I’ve ever laughed so hard at a wedding or felt more at ease with a big rowdy group of loving strangers. Roald Dahl famously said ‘if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.’ The way that Sarah & Nick look at each other RADIATES off of them and fairly stuns you with how genuine and honest and JOYFUL their relationship is - as evidenced by the merriment in the room throughout the day, their family & friends adore these two and it just felt like a big celebratory kick off to a lifetime of sunbeams.

The townhouse was aglow with elegant Christmas decor, complemented perfectly by Chorlton Blossoms’ richly hued florals and wild eucalyptus greenery. Opting for a sumptuous brownie tower rather than a traditional wedding cake, a personalised Jenga set rather than a guestbook, music to dance your socks off to, every detail was so carefully chosen by the happy couple to reflect the aim of the day which was clearly to have a mother-f-ing blast.

What a way to kick off the final five weddings of a year of INCREDIBLE weddings. I’m so so inspired by the creativity and care that has gone into each day I’ve been lucky enough to shoot. Here’s a sneak peek of what we got up to…
