Sarah & Thomas - AT LAST! An Intimate Bolton Town Hall Wedding - Lancashire Wedding Photography

“So this is love,
So this is love,
So this is what makes life divine,
I’m all aglow,
And now I know,
The key to all heaven is mine,
My heart has wings,
And I can fly,
I’ll touch ev’ry star in the sky,
So this is the miracle that I’ve been dreaming of,
So this is love.”
— Cinderella

HAPPY NEW YEAR DARLINGS! I’m back to work after a (boozy) restful festive season and a very Potter 7th birthday celebration for my tiny queen - and after giving my gorgeous family all of that attention, it feels WONDERFUL to shift my focus back to YOU! With all the uncertainty of the past 2 years hopefully fading into the background, it’s so so amazing and speical to look ahead at the diary and see a much more civilised spread of weddings. I only ever want to give you all of my attention and energy - to take the time to get to know who YOU are individually and as a couple and with a little extra breathing room, it’s time to ease back in, starting with yesterday’s long-awaited intimate Bolton Town Hall wedding of childhood sweethearts, Sarah & Thomas.

Yesterday was an utter dream - a long-overdue one but a dream nonetheless. These cuties first got in touch with me WAY BACK in the middle of 2019, before Covid was even on our radar. They had initially planned the big shebang wedding in September 2020 with all the bells and whistles and I was so excited as I got to know them (and Sarah’s lovely mum Paula who had an active hand in booking me!). Obviously, we all know how things went from there: a second date, then a third and then the decision to postpone indefinitely. I was devastated when this happened but as it was at a time when there didn’t seem to be any end in sight, it was the right thing to do. I was so so grateful that throughout this scheduling and rescheduling, Sarah & Thomas stuck with me, always checking with me before confirming new dates and very kindly paying a portion of their invoice early just to help keep my little business afloat during the wild early days of the pandemic. Their patience, trust, and generosity truly warmed my heart and made me hopeful for the good that could come from this.

After the final postponement, it would be a couple of months before I heard from Sarah. Out of the blue in October 2021, I finally heard from Sarah who was tentatively dipping her toe back into wedding planning after so many disheartening earlier attempts. The plan was to scale it all right back, plan just a very small intimate family wedding at their local town hall following by a pub lunch up the road from their home. I was ecstatic to hear from them and once we locked down a date in late January, all the stars FINALLY aligned for a beautiful, emotional, hometwon wedding of dreams. For my first wedding of 2022, I literally couldn’t think of a better way to mark it than with these two wonderful humans.

Sarah ditched the big fancy dress and opted for a stunning blush pink Monsoon gown and custom Converse whilst Thomas scrubbed up well in his tweed three-piecce from Slaters. The smiles were ever-present and the confetti thrown high! Afterwards, we snuck over to a small church woodland just over the road from the pub and got some beautiful portraits before I hugged them goodbye and sent them into their reception of dearest family members.

Sarah & Thomas understand that what remains after a wedding is a marriage - the party just begins the adventure. I love these two so so much and feel so honoured that that literally stuck with me through thick and thin…here’s a sneak peek of what we got up to…
