Harriet & Kevin - A Dreamy DIY Spring Wedding at Brockholes Nature Reserve - Lancashire Wedding Photography

Lay with me, I’ll lay with you
We’ll do the things that lovers do
Put the stars in our eyes
And with heart shaped bruises
And late night kisses divine

If you’re planning a wedding at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston, you’ll find tons of inspo from this wedding!

Harriet and Kevin got married at Brockholes Nature Reserve, which is the most wonderful eco-friendly wedding venue in Preston with countryside views. It was a beautiful day and this wonderful couple who have been together since they were schoolkids were surrounded by so much love!

The Serious Part

The ceremony was a beautiful service in their local church. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service.

They decorated the area with flowers, which I loved. The reception was in a private room at Brockholes Nature Reserve – I love this venue because it has so many great opportunities for portraits. Weddings at Brockholes Nature Reserve are amazing, because the surroundings are completely stunning.

Brockholes Nature Reserve is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the coolest places to get married in Preston. The venue offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding – and there so many incredible backdrops that are perfect for photos.

The Party

The couple had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and a live band in the evening. Harriet and Kevin had been keeping a diary of sorts on Instagram of their wedding planning journey and it's been so fun to feel involved in the process from the beginning. An avid DIY & crafter, Harriet made great use of her Cricut machine with so many beautifully personalised touches set out around Brockholes. For dinner they had a barbecue and dessert buffet, and the first dance was a romantic slow dance. They finished off the evening with a big fat dance party and when I arrived for a cheeky post-wedding walk around Brockholes there were absolute some sore heads and dancing feet.

The Couple

Harriet wore a classic white dress and Kevin wore a three-piece suit and they looked really perfect. Harriet's Essence of Australia had a lightly blush lining that shone through and the most amazing detachable cape 'wings'.

The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was so personal. They said that photography was such an important piece to their wedding puzzle, and I loved that they just really wanted me there. From our first call, we really conencted and have communicated constantly over the past year so it was such a lovely culmination of our connection. hey were up for any and everything and I had such a ball exploring this special wedding venue with them on the day - and the day after!
