Alicia & Matt - A Joyous & Fun Owen House Wedding Barn Wedding (with bonus beer pong!) - Cheshire Wedding Photography

People are like cities: We all have alleys and gardens and secret rooftops and places where daisies sprout between the sidewalk cracks, but most of the time all we let each other see is a postcard glimpse of a floodlit statue or a skyline. Love lets you find those hidden places in another person, even the ones they didn’t know were there, even the ones they wouldn’t have thought to call beautiful themselves.

Alicia and Matt got married at Owen House Wedding Barn, which is a beautiful barn in Mobberley with stunning grounds, a veritable photographer’s playground. It was my first visit back in 4 years and it certainly didn’t disappoint! It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and the sun shone all day long to the delight of all the wonderful people gathered to celebrate this truly AWESOME couple.

The ceremony was an intimate Catholic service in their local church. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading by Alicia’s brother Conor and haven’t opted to skip the traditional full mass, it was such a personal service.

The bright and airy church was decorated with rich sage and rust tones, a theme carried throguh to Owen House which I loved. The reception was in the main hall at Owen House Wedding Barn – I love this venue because the light is gorgeous for portraits and candids. Weddings at Owen House Wedding Barn are amazing, because it’s got such a great atmosphere, the staff are incredible and you truly feel like it’s all yours to enjoy.

Owen House Wedding Barn is perfect for couples who want a chilled out wedding, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Mobberley. The venue offers onsite bedrooms so guests don’t have to leave early – and there are many rustic buildings on the grounds that are perfect for photos.

Alicia & Matt opted for full party atmosphere with beer pong (and personalised ping-pong balls!) and cornhole during the drinks reception in the afternoon and a live band in the evening. I love that Alicia & Matt truly thought of EVERYTHING and so there wasn't any sort of awkward lull throughout the day, it just flowed perfectly. After the most epic entrance, we enjoyed some emotional and heartfelt speeches by Alicia’s uncle Patrick, groom Matt (who brought the house down, it was PERFECT) and best man Keith. For dinner they had proper wedding grub by superstar caterers Vanilla in All Seasons, and the first dance was a romantic slow dance. They finished off the evening with one hell of a dance party - and plenty more beer pong!

Alicia wore the most breathtaking off-shoulder gown from Flamingo Boulevard and Matt wore a dapper tuxedo and they looked really amazing. I love that the details of their outfits were impeccably chosen and yet somehow still simple without unnecessary embellishment. Alicia's headband by VIvi Embellished in particular was a DREAM.

I loved every moment of the day I spent with Alicia & Matt, they are some of the warmest, loveliest humans I’ve eben lucky enough to capture and I absolutely adored their wedding day. Here’s a little sneak peek of what we got up to…
