Hannah & Dan - A Stylish City-Centre Victoria Warehouse Wedding - Manchester Wedding Photography

All you gotta do is smile that smile
And there got all my defenses
Just leave it up to you and in a little while
You’re messin’ up my mind and fillin’ up my senses
Here you come again lookin’ better than a body has a right to
And shakin’ me up so that all I really know
Is here you come again, and here I go, here I go
— Dolly Parton

I’ll be the first to admit it - last summer when weddings quickly snapped back into action after nearly 18 months of restrictions and stop and start, it took me a minute to catch my breath. I went from a year of shooting just 7 of the original 30 I’d had booked to all of a sudden 18 weddings in 6 weeks. It was WILD and amazing and exhilarating but I equally noticed that some aspects of running my business had to gently shift to the side in favour of pure survival and due diligence to my couples. The first thing to go was the blog. If you check back there was a good 6 week stretch of crickets in this space despite how much I was working. HOWEVER I shot some EPIC and beautiful and FUN eddings during that time so I think it’s high time I FINALLY get those out into the world and shout from the rooftops how much I loved these couples. Starting today with the WONDERFUL Hannah & Dan and their spectacular VIctoria Warehouse wedding in September.

Hannah and Dan got married at Victoria Warehouse, which is a warehouse in Salford with an urban vibe and geometric backdrops for DAYS. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot working alongside some amazing fellow suppliers (like my pal James Wray on v ideo!) and the sun even made an appearance!

The ceremony was an intimate service the main bay, candlelit and filled with the most stunning foliage and blooms. During the ceremony they read their own vows, making those very personal solemn promises to each other - something on my must-have list for couples! It’s unique and special and takes what can be a perfunctory civil ceremony and makes it about YOU.

They decorated the space with thousands of tealights, which I loved and lent itself to the most magical fairyland environment. The reception was in the same space after a quick turnaround during cocktail hour by the team at Victoria Warehouse – I love this venue because you can totally personalise it and really make it your own. Weddings at Victoria Warehouse are amazing, because the building is just incredible and, with a ltitle imagination, you can create some incredible portrait opportunities.

Victoria Warehouse is perfect for couples who want a big party, and is one of the coolest places to get married in Manchester. The venue offers onsite parking so guests don’t have to walk, innumerable food options – and there so many incredible backdrops that are perfect for photos.

The couple had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and live music in the evening provided by the AWESOME Twisted Tubes band who kept everyone on their feet. Hannah & Dan had literally thought of everything and there were so many very personal touches that truly made the day stand out. An absolute highlight was when Dan's sister (who was also a bridesmaid) performed and acoustic set with one of the groomsmen on guitar after only practicing a handful of times over Zoom. It was so so special. For dinner they had an entirely plant-based feast, and the first dance was set off with confetti canons and straight into a mega set by those wedding legends, Twisted Tubes.

Hannah wore the most perfectly tailored minimalist gown with a cape and Dan wore a very stylish moss green tweed suit and they looked really incredible. Both bride and groom are TALL and looked perfectly statuesque next to each other - I especially loved when we snuck out later on for some twilight portraits and Hannah swapped her cape for a custom denim jacket. They truly were a joy to capture.

I loved re-living this amazing wedding with these wonderful humans and am so happy to FINALLY share wih you a little of what we got up to…take a look!
