Laura & Mark - A Whirlwind Manchester City Centre & Owen House Wedding Barn Celebration - Cheshire Wedding Photography

Pardon the way that I stare
There’s nothin’ else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it’s real
You’re just too good to be true
Can’t take my eyes off of you
— Frankie Valli

Being a Cheshire wedding photographer means I get to witness love stories in the most wonderful settings, but Laura & Mark’s day felt extra special. It was one of those weddings where you walk away with a full heart, knowing you’ve been part of something truly meaningful.

The day began at Laura’s parents’ home in Hale. I always love those morning hours – the buzz of excitement, little bursts of laughter, and the quiet family moments before the whirlwind begins. Laura looked incredible, surrounded by so much love, before we all headed into Manchester for the ceremony.

St Ann’s Church was the perfect setting. It’s a beautiful building anyway, but what made it even more magical was the family history tied to it. Laura’s parents and grandparents both married there, so watching Laura walk down the same aisle felt incredibly moving. You could see how much it meant to everyone.

Manchester lived up to its reputation for unpredictable weather. Laura arrived in the middle of a dramatic rainstorm, but by the time the ceremony ended, the clouds parted and the sun poured in. The rest of the day gave us everything – sunshine, a couple of drizzly showers, and that gorgeous golden evening light that photographers dream of.

After the ceremony, the celebrations moved to Owen House Wedding Barn in Mobberley. I always love photographing Owen House Wedding Barn weddings – the space feels so welcoming, and it has endless little corners for creative portraits. With 120 guests, the barn was buzzing with energy, laughter, and joy.

The speeches set the tone for the evening – heartfelt, hilarious, and full of love. The florals and décor were just stunning, perfectly suited for a September wedding, and it was clear how much thought Laura & Mark had put into making sure every detail reflected them. As the sun set, we managed to sneak away for some portraits in the fields, then later had a bit of fun exploring Owen House’s photo spots together.

By the time The Flynn & Tonics hit the stage, the dance floor was alive, and I left with the sound of music and laughter ringing in my ears.

Laura & Mark are one of those couples who just fit. Spending the day with them, their families, and their friends was such a joy, and I feel really lucky to have been their Manchester wedding photographer. I cannot thank them enough, along with the top-notch staff at Owen House, for making the day so dreamy.

If you’re planning your own Cheshire or Manchester wedding and looking for someone to capture not just how your day looks, but how it feels, I’d love to chat.
