Shaunay & Lewis - An Intimate & Emotional Wedding at Chadkirk Chapel and Big Fun Celebration at The Bluebell Suites - Manchester Wedding Photographer

To love is not to possess, to own or imprison, nor to lose oneself in another. Love is to join and separate, to walk alone and together.
— James Kavanaugh

Some weddings stay with you forever, and Shaunay & Lewis’s multi-day celebration is one I’ll never forget. On the 7th of September, I had the honour of photographing their intimate wedding at the beautiful Chadkirk Chapel in Romiley. The ceremony was incredibly special, with just a handful of loved ones present: Shaunay’s mum Wendy, her best friend Becki, and Lewis’s dad Roger. What made it even more meaningful was that Shaunay’s grandmother’s ashes are scattered at the chapel, so the space held a deep personal connection for her.

After their vows, we wandered through the stunning grounds of Chadkirk Chapel and into the nearby fields for their wedding portraits. The timing couldn’t have been better—golden hour lit up the countryside and gave us the most dreamy, romantic light. Without the pressure of a big crowd waiting, we took our time capturing those quiet, joy-filled moments. It was everything a wedding photographer dreams of: natural, unhurried, and full of genuine emotion.

But Shaunay & Lewis had a surprise up their sleeves. Their intimate ceremony was kept a secret from their wider family and friends until the 27th of September, when they revealed all at a huge celebration at The Bluebell Suites in Hyde. If the first day was heartfelt and quiet, the second was a true party. They pulled out all the stops for their wedding reception—laughter, music, and dancing well into the night. By the time I left, the dancefloor was absolutely buzzing, the perfect ending to a month of love and joy.

As a wedding photographer, being invited into stories like this is such a privilege. Whether it’s the quiet intimacy of a secret ceremony or the high-energy chaos of a full dancefloor, my job is to capture those fleeting moments so couples can relive them forever.

If you’re planning your wedding—whether it’s a small, meaningful gathering, a big party with all your family and friends, or even a mix of both like Shaunay & Lewis—I’d love to be there to tell your story.
