A Bittersweet Farewell: Keira & Tom’s Beautiful Wedding at The Holford Estate - Cheshire Wedding Photographer

This Saturday, I had the absolute joy—and a little heartbreak—of photographing Keira and Tom’s wedding at The Holford Estate. It wasn’t just any wedding. It was the last ever wedding to be held at this incredible Cheshire venue after nine magical years of love stories, laughter, and unforgettable celebrations.

For me, The Holford Estate holds such a special place in my heart. They were the very first venue to add me as a recommended Cheshire wedding photographer, way back when I was just starting out. I still remember that thrill of seeing my name on their supplier list! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful days there—each one different, each one filled with that unmistakable Holford magic.

This final wedding felt like coming full circle. The day was tinged with emotion after the very sad passing of Frances, Holford’s wonderful owner, earlier this year. Frances poured her heart into the estate, creating a place that has meant so much to so many. Her legacy lives on in every brick, every blossom, and every happy memory made there.

Keira and Tom could not have been a more perfect couple for Holford’s last chapter. They are truly two of the kindest, most genuine souls—completely and utterly in love. From the moment I arrived, the day was filled with laughter, joy, and a touch of that whimsical October magic. The rain (thankfully!) held off, blessing us with soft, golden light that wrapped around them as we wandered the gardens for their portraits. Honestly, I couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful send-off for this cherished venue.

It was also such a treat to spend the day with some of my favourite wedding pals: James Wray weaving his video magic, the delicious creations of Two Bears Bakery, and the stunning blooms by Hannah Elizabeth Flowers—to name just a few of the dream team who helped make the day shine.

When it came time to pack up my gear and say goodbye, Hannah, Holford’s wonderful coordinator (and now a dear friend), and I shared a few teary hugs. We’ve shared so many weddings together over the years, and this farewell was truly emotional.

As I drove away, I felt so grateful—for every wedding, every couple, every moment I’ve captured at The Holford Estate. What an honour it’s been to be part of its story.

Here’s to Keira & Tom, to Frances, to Hannah—and to nine beautiful years of Holford love. 💛
