Today was an absolute dream. Shannon & Michael tied the knot at the gorgeous Merrydale Manor, and honestly, it was one of those weddings that just felt right from start to finish.
Both teachers, they met way back during their training days and have been inseparable ever since – and you can tell. The way they look at each other, the way they laugh together… just pure connection. They’re two of the kindest, warmest people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing, and they fully embraced every moment of the day.
The vibe was timeless elegance – think lush ivory and white florals everywhere, soft styling, and Merrydale’s picture-perfect grounds as the backdrop. As a Cheshire wedding photographer, I always love shooting Merrydale Manor weddings, and today was no exception.
Despite the forecast, the rain very kindly held off while the couple and their guests enjoyed a garden party in the sun – drinks were flowing, laughter filled the air, and I managed to sneak off with Shannon & Michael for some portraits in the soft golden light. They were an absolute dream to shoot – totally up for anything I suggested, and just so natural together.
Then, just as everyone was seated for speeches, the clouds rolled in and the rain arrived – great timing, really! It added a cosy atmosphere indoors, and the speeches were full of love, belly laughs and a few happy tears.
Massive shoutout to the fab Merrydale team for keeping everything running so smoothly, toastmaster Kevin (absolute legend!), and the lovely Katey on video – always a pleasure working alongside such a brilliant team.

Merrydale Manor weddings are always a treat, and being back there as a Cheshire wedding photographer today reminded me just how special they are. Beautiful venue, brilliant team, and even better people.
