Alex & Stewart - A Laidback, Love-filled Wedding at The Deaf Institute - Deaf Institute Weddings
“Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold.”
After their epic Ibiza wedding earlier this year, Alex and Stewart hosted a more intimate (but no less joyful!) Manchester celebration yesterday – and it was every bit as special. As a Manchester wedding photographer, it’s days like these that make me fall in love with my job all over again.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St Paul’s Church in Heaton Moor – a perfect setting for their relaxed vibe. Despite the morning drizzle, the rain held off just in time for their “I dos” and the couple made their exit to a full-on confetti moment (not clouds – result!). With just 50 of their nearest and dearest in attendance, it was a celebration rich in love, laughter, and happy tears.
Post-ceremony, we strolled back to Alex and Stewart’s Heaton Moor home, where their garden had been transformed into the ultimate backyard party. Think nibbles by the always-brilliant Picnic, endless bubbles, and the most unexpected surprise – a live acoustic duo who set the tone for a truly chilled afternoon. Guests lounged, laughed, and danced on the lawn as champagne corks popped and hugs went around like confetti.
But of course, it wouldn’t be an Alex & Stewart wedding without a wild twist. As golden hour began to fade, we all made our way to the legendary Deaf Institute, one of my absolute favourite Manchester city-centre wedding venues. From elegant to electric – the party vibe was next-level. A banging DJ, a cheeky ice luge (rude in the best way), and an endless supply of fancy dress accessories kept everyone on their feet. I left just after 10, and let’s just say… things were only just getting started.
These two are the real deal – warm, hilarious, generous, and completely devoted to their people. Being a part of their day was such a joy. From the heartfelt ceremony to the ridiculous dancefloor antics, it was pure magic. Massive congrats, Alex & Stewart – thank you for letting me document this next chapter of your love story.
If you're planning your own Deaf Institute wedding or looking for a Manchester wedding photographer to capture all the real, silly, joyful moments – I’d love to hear from you!
