Emily & Lewis - A Gloriously Sunny & Joyful Spring Wedding at Mottram Hall - Cheshire Wedding Photographer

Together, you are the beginnings of a big idea.
The twinkly bits that hang in the sky after the firework goes bang.
The cold, thin air at the top of a mountain.
The only two people in a crowded room.

Some wedding days just feel like sunshine from beginning to end — and Emily & Lewis’s Mottram Hall wedding was exactly that.

As a Cheshire wedding photographer, I’m lucky to work at some truly beautiful venues, but Mottram Hall always feels a little bit magical. And this one? Extra special. When Emily & Lewis first got in touch, neither of us realised we were actually neighbours — a discovery that made our first meeting feel more like a chat with old friends than a booking consultation. The best kind of surprise.

They found me through my “work wife” Kate at Florence & Vera Events (who, as always, styled the day beautifully), and it turned into a full-on dream team of familiar faces - the hit the “Sale wedding work-wives’ trifecta: we had Ali from Diddibox Flower working her floral magic and Lori-Ann from Bibble Bakes creating the cake — a proper little circle of Sale-based wedding brilliance. There’s something so lovely about working alongside people you know and adore; the whole day just flows.

And what a day it was. Unseasonably warm and gloriously sunny for March — the kind of weather that feels like a gift. After the ceremony, we spilled out onto the lawn for a confetti toss and drinks reception, with laughter, hugs, and that unmistakable buzz of celebration filling the air.

Emily & Lewis were an absolute dream to photograph — childhood sweethearts (they’ve been together since they were 15!) completely up for anything, full of energy, and so clearly in love. The kind of couple who trust the process, lean into the moment, and end up with the most joyful, natural photographs because of it. We wandered, we laughed, we made the most of that beautiful light.

I also had the pleasure of working alongside Maggie from Ever After by Mags, capturing content throughout the day — and honestly, we made such a great team. There’s something really special about collaborating like that, quietly documenting all those in-between moments from different perspectives.

As the day softened into evening, we chased the sunset (always worth it), soaking up those golden, fleeting minutes. After a quick outfit change, Emily & Lewis rejoined their guests for the cake cut and first dance — and from that moment on, the energy lifted even higher.

The Hustle absolutely brought the house down with their pop-punk covers — the dance floor was full, the vibes were immaculate, and it felt like the perfect ending to such a joyful day.

It really was gorgeous from start to finish. Emily & Lewis — neighbours, legends, and all-round lovely humans — thank you for trusting me with your story. I loved every minute
