Hannah & James - Round 2! A Relaxed & Warm Wedding Celebration at HOME on First Street - Manchester Wedding Photographer
There’s something utterly glorious about celebrating love in a place as vibrant and alive as HOME on First Street — and this past Saturday, despite Storm Amy roaring overhead, Hannah & James’s wedding party was pure magic. As a Manchester wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more joyful chaos to capture.
Many of you will know that I first met Hannah & James when I photographed their intimate family wedding back in April at Sale Town Hall. That quiet, heartfelt ceremony was brimmed with sincerity, surrounded by their closest family, and full of delicate emotional moments. (You can read more about that sweet day here.) Now, this weekend was their long-awaited celebration — the party for all their dearest friends, arriving from all over the UK, flushed with excitement and energy.
HOME (Manchester) provided such a perfect canvas for this celebration. As a specialist in HOME weddings, I love how the venue blends industrial chic with warm atmospherics — every corner invites storytelling, and every window gives you that moody, cinematic light. Even as gusts rattled the doors outside, inside, the room pulsed with laughter, reclaimed dances, confetti, and the clink of glasses.
I wandered between groups of guests — catching the delighted reunion hugs, clumsy dance steps, whispered toasts, and stolen glances between Hannah & James. The contrasts were everything: storm-lashed windows framing warm interiors, dramatic shadows dancing across the parquet floors, and candid moments bursting into joyous movement. The contrast made the images feel alive — like every frame was breathing with real life.
One of the loveliest parts of the evening was when Hannah & James stood up together to give their speeches. Their words were heartfelt, warm, and full of gratitude — thanking everyone who had travelled through wild weather to be there and celebrate by their side. It felt like such a genuine reflection of their personalities: thoughtful, kind, and quietly full of love.
As a Manchester wedding photographer specialising in HOME weddings, days like this remind me why I do what I do. To document not just the polished moments, but the stormy ones too — the ones that test connection and pull people in closer. To Hannah & James, thank you for trusting me again, for inviting me into both your intimate ceremony and your full-blown party. Your story — from Sale Town Hall to HOME — is one I’ll treasure in light and shadow forever.
If you’re planning a HOME wedding in Manchester (or anywhere in the North West) and looking for a warm, natural approach to photography, I’d love to chat — storms, good weather, and all.
