Jen & David - An Elegant, Stylish, Family-Filled Wrenbury Hall Wedding - Cheshire Wedding Photography

As soon as I wake up
Every night, every day
I know that it’s you I need
To take the blues away
It must be love, love, love
— Madness

When Jen and David first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most romantic countryside wedding with an intimate ceremony and a live band for the reception. Jen and David are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

I started at Wrenbury Hall's purpose-built dressing room, where the girls were relaxing before the big event, and it was so chilled out, because everyone was in a good mood. Jen wore a traditional white gown and David wore a three-piece suit and they looked really beautiful. I loved the energy of the room before we got the girls into their finery - Jen & David's adorable almost-3-year-old Darcy was padding around, snacking in her pjs before all the excitement to come.

The wedding took place at Wrenbury Hall's sun-drenched ceremony room, and was a romantic legal ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which brought pretty much everyone to tears. After the ceremony they were showered with confetti, and then the celebrations began. It was so emotional watching David see his beautiful bride for the first time, you can tell after 3 wedding dates (and 8 years together), the happy couple were so so excited for this day to come.

The wedding reception took place in the main bar before guests were led by toastmaster extraordinaire Peter to the MOST stunning glass conservatory,, which was adorned with swathes of white chiffon and lit by thousands of tea lights. It was so wonderful.

It was a bright and sunny day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the garden doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photos from the afternoon are when they'd get close and then closer. Connection is so so key in your wedding portraits and I feel so lucky to be entrusted with those intimate moments.

During the reception they had a live singer, which gave the afternoon a really chilled vibe. For the wedding breakfast they had a roast dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards, the couple had their first dance and the party kicked off. They also had The Funtime Frankies really set the vibe, playing all those dancefloor-filling hits, which was a huge success.

I cannot express just how much I love these two, how happy I feel that they found me and entrusted me with their wedding day, how much I ADORE little Darcy (who stepped in multiple times as assistant/second shooter/Percy Pig provider). Again and again, I’m gobsmacked by the generosity of humans, the trust and the openness. What beauty this world holds.
